Leni Robredo susuportahan ang laban ni CJ Serono "I will do everything on my power to right this wrong!"

Vice President Leni Robredo made a strong stand as she has expressed support for Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno against the quo warranto petition seeking for her removal as the Chief Justice.

"As your duly-elected Vice President. I took an oath to defend the Constitution. You can count on me to do everything in my power to right this wrong, should it ever come to pass."

"We will not go quiet into the night. We will always fight for what is right. Together we will prevail."

VP Robredo said at Free the Courts forum at the University of the Philippines (UP) as she blasts the ouster case petition as the "final blow to the ideal of justice we all depend on."

Robredo as she joined the calls against the ouster case of Sereno, she also encouraged the public not to stay silent and defend the judiciary.
"Hindi maaaring mananahimik na lang tayo sa dilim na dulot ng mga pangyayari nitong mga nakaraang buwan. Kailangan nating isantabi ang ating takot at ipaglaban ang ating hudikatura."

"The quo warranto case case against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, should it succeed, can be the final flow to the ideal of justice we all depend on. It weaponizes the courts and if we allow it, a quo warranto can be used a weapon if intimidation, to kill dissent."

Robredo also said that as Vice President it is her duty to uphold the rule of law amid threats against the country's democratic institutions.

The quo warranto petition faced by CJ Sereno was filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida that seeks her ouster over the alleged failure to file and submit her Statement of Assets, Liability and Net worth (SALN).

The Supreme Court will decide Sereno's fate as soon as Friday, MAy 11.

Vice President Robredo is also currently fighting an electoral protest which was filed against her by former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., to the Supreme court convened as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
