China handang protektahan si Pangulong Duterte "Xi Jinping said China wont let me get ousted!"

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said Chinese President Xi Jinping gave him assurances that he would not let him get ousted as he will be protected by China from any ouster attempts.

“The assurances of Xi Jinping were very encouraging… ‘We will not allow you to be taken out from your office, and we will not allow the Philippines to go to the dogs,’”

Pres. Duterte said in a speech during a send off ceremony of Filipino scientists who will study the Benham Rise in Casiguran Bay in Aurora.

“Siguro kasi dahil freely elected leader naman ako. It could be a very justified statement."

Even both country's maritime dispute at the South China Sea, President Duterte has since build a good relations between Philippines and China.

He also temporarily set aside the ruling to avoid confrontation with China, but vowed to raise it at the right time during his term as President.
“Naisip ko, wala naman tayong magagawa dito sa China, might as well make friends with them,” he said. “And the nearest na makatulong kung mag-upakan, patayan, will be China. And China said, ‘we will be there.’”

Duterte blamed his predecessor, former President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and the United States (US) for failing to stop China's reclamation and militarization in the disputed West Philippine Sea.

He scored Aquino for not giving enough action after the Philippines secured a legal victory over China at the Permanent Court of Arbitration.

Recent reports comes out that China has deployed high powered missiles in three Philippine-claimed reefs in the Spratlys.

The President also blamed US for its inaction when China has started the reclamation activities in the disputed territory.

"You (US) were already around. I'm sure seven or eight years ago, there were already intelligence reports over flights by so many countries, including ours, that something was afoot there, that they were (China) trying to build reclamation."
